The International League of Religious Socialists (ILRS) is a century-old international organisation, affiliated to the Socialist International. It is a forum for reflection and action which brings together national organisations of religious people who channel their political commitment through socialist and social-democratic parties. It originated in Protestant communities. Currently, there are also Catholics and Muslims. Committed to the secularity of the State, they combat the appropriation and instrumentalisation of religion by the political right. They are a bridge between communities and parties, committed to policies in favour of peace, social justice, the care of the planet, gender equality and LGTBI rights.
